Synopsis

🏆 2nd place in the 7th AI Club Challenge — an honor that brings me particular joy.

This short film imagines a future in which humanity has developed technology capable of radically altering the perception of time: allowing a person to experience an entire lifetime within a hyper-realistic simulation.

Inspired by philosophical reflections and articles by Rebecca Roache (Oxford University), this short film takes an idea originally presented from a disturbing angle and explores its potential use from a much more human perspective: not as punishment, but as an opportunity. Not to cause harm, but to expand the experience of existence.

Because if one day it were possible to simulate an entire life…
Would it serve only to escape reality?
Or could it help us understand ourselves better, develop empathy, heal, learn, and value our own lives more deeply?

The proposal may seem futuristic, even utopian. But perhaps it isn’t so far-fetched. Perhaps the real vertigo lies not in the technology, but in the question it leaves behind:

If you could live more lives… would you?
What other lives would you choose to live?
And after having lived them… would you choose your own again?

This short film does not aim to give you definitive answers.
It aims to open a door.
To the imagination.
To ethics.
And to a new way of understanding what it means to be human.
